No the only snakes I've seen are the corn snakes (or something) and garden snakes. I do live in Maryland too.

There are a couple of records of Eastern Chipmunks eating snakes. John Gilhen published a record of one case in the Canadian Field Naturalist in 2011. I've seen photos of a chipmunk eating a smooth green snake. Whether the chipmunks kill the snake or take advantage of free, available protein is another question.
