Mephiles tricked Silver into believing that Sonic was the one who would release Iblis, therefore being the Iblis Trigger. This was a half truth, as Sonic indirectly played a part in releasing Iblis as Mephiles killed him causing Elise to release the flames within her.
because supposivley the inplies trigger was supposed to bring an end to silver's world in the future so silver went out to find him and to destroy him but he did not leave on his voyage alone he went with blaze the cat (look her up some time)
