Could be the belt needs adjusting. While, hopefully, answer 1 is correct, it is also possible that a bearing or other component INSIDE the compressor is worn, and beginning to "gall." Also, that first answer is assuming that the squeaking sound is coming from the compressor, belt, or pulleys. It is also possible that the bushings [bearings] in the BLOWER motor are galling.j3h.
