So that they can lick their prey when they catch it, like for example when they catch a deer, they have to lick of the hair and access meat on the bones. And another reason is because when a female amur or siberian tiger gives birth they have to lick the fetal sack off so that predators won't eat the cub. And another reason when they groom themselves they can get the dirt off of their fur, and they're in the cat family and all cats from house cats to tigers have rough tongues. Hope I helped :)
