When the vehicle is hit with something or you feel a shock in the vehicle, which affects and moves the air bags, after this the airbag light will switch on, which means they are deactivated, but are not exploded. no idea how to switch it off, it should be some wiring technique.

It May also be due to a loose connection for ur Airbag sensor. You have to check the Error code. If ur Airbag light started blinking all of a sudden, jus try to see the airbag sensor connector below ur passenger seat and try reconnecting it..It might go off. This is a usual prob in 1998-2001 models i believe
