To open a door on a 1998 Avenger that has a broken handle, a person might have to use another door to gain entry to the vehicle. Then the door can be opened from the inside.
Under the panel with the keyhole on the trunk, there is a handle to open it. If that doesn't work, in the driver side door, there is a button that shows a picture of the trunk opened. Press that and the trunk will open.
only the bottom pan
While pulling on the handle as if to open the hatch, take a screw driver and pop the locking mechanism/latch to the open position. It should work no problem.
If I understand you right the door is opened and won't close because the latch is tripped. Lift up on the door handle and take your finger or a screw driver and move the latch to the open position

The fuse box is located on the driver side. There is a panel that can be opened on the side of the dashboard that can be accessed when the driver side door is open.
yes. the pan has to be removed, and sometimes the valve body too!
Had the same problem with drivers door. I removed the door panel and was able to see screws that held the door handle on. I replaced the handle with one from the wreckers. It was not a big job but is tight working inside any door. You may be able to open the door with a screw driver pushed directly in the handle button hole. Don't drop anything in the door or it will have to stay there. My arm was too big to reach down and pick up anything I dropped.
The position of the handle indicates the direction of the opening through the ball, IE. handle in line with pipe, valve is open, tangent to pipe, valve is closed.
10 Downing Street is a very well protected building. The door to the building cannot be opened from the outside. This is because it does not have a knob or handle to allow it to be opened.
Opening a door into traffic makes the door opener at fault. If the door is opened safely and some driver then runs into it, the moving driver is at fault.
