I'm assuming that if you leave you vehical over night or longer it goes dead, not while driving? check for a stuck relay or a glove box or trunk light left on.

How do you power up amp in 2002 dodge grand caravan?

If the battery is dead you will need a battery charger. If the battery is good and you have low amperage then you will need another alternator. Most parts stores will check it for you. If you are looking for MORE amperage then you would have to buy a larger amperage alternator.

Where is located the stater for Chevy s-10 1991?

The stator is located inside the alternator. If you are looking for the starter just follow the positive battery cable from the battery. The other end is connected to the starter.

Why won't your brand new battery stay charged on your 1987 300 zx non turbo?

First check your alternator to see if it charging the new battery. If it is, then you might have bought a bad battery. If the alternator isn't charging then you need a new one. Check your amp guage if it has one. That is the very first place I would start looking!

Where is the alternator for Isuzu trooper 1995?

Why would your lights dim and your car not start when you turn it off after you just replaced the battery and alternator?

When you car is turned off your battery doesn't have the alternator pushing that constant stream of voltage to your battery to keep it charged. So your looking at a decrease in voltage by 2 - 3 volts while car is off. No part will fix this just simply start your car before you turn on your head lights.

How come I replaced the alternator and battery and starter but my 95 eclipse rs still hesitates to start. But it helps when I press the gas?

The problem isn't your batter or alternator or starter then. Start looking into your fuel management system. Possibly your fuel pump, injectors, etc.

What to look for in 2005 Chevy cavalier car won't fully turn over?

The first thing I would check on, would be the battery not holding charge(bad battery), The battery terminal should be tight and VERY clean, Alternator not putting out enough juice to keep the battery charged. Or the starter is weak and looking for a replacement..

Why does your battery light come on in a 2005 Dodge Stratus?

Insufficient voltage from the alternator would be typical. If you have a DMM or voltage meter, test the alternator. You should be looking at between 13.6 - 14.6 volts from the alternator... if you're getting less than that, your alternator's on its way out, and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. In a nutshell, your alternator isn't sufficiently recharging your battery, and running your car is draining the battery. It'll continue to run until the battery goes dead. In a newer car, you'll notice nonessential systems start to shut off (e.g., radio, power windows and seats, etc.) as the LVD (low voltage disconnect) kicks in for the sake of maximizing battery life to run essential systems. This is something you really don't want to wait on. If you don't have the aforementioned tools, any auto parts store (NAPA, Advanced, O'Reilly, Auto Zone, et. al) will have the equipment to test your alternator, and can also help you with removal and installation.

What causes the car not to start and iginition not to go out?

If the ignition isn't firing then you're looking at an electrical problem: Bad spark plugs, distributor, cables or battery. If you're frequently draining your battery and needing jump starts, the alternator could be failing as well.

What can cause battery to run down in a 1993 Buick lesabre?

Normally there are 3 things that can cause the battery to run down. It can be the battery itself has a dead cell which means you must replace the battery. It can also be you have a defective alternator which is not charging the battery. Another possibility is a parasitic drain on the battery. This can be caused by a light that is on somewhere. Could be a courtesy light, under hood or trunk light, brake like, etc. Can also be that you have a relay that is stuck on the vehicle some work. Any of these things will cause the battery to run down. Remove the negative cable from the battery and see if you can fully charge it with a battery charger. Let the battery sit overnight and check the charge in the morning. If the battery is dead it has a dead cell and must be replaced. If the battery is fully charged connect the negative cable back up and start the engine. With the engine idling check the voltage at the battery with a volt meter set to the 20 Volt DC scale. You should read from 13.5 to 15.5 Volts DC if the alternator is functioning properly. Any less and the alternator is defective. If both the battery and the alternator are good start looking for a light that is on or a stuck relay.
