it could be that you have a broken or weak clutch spring or you may have dirty clutches or you could have just a worn out belt or any combo of the 3
how do I tighten the belt on a polaris sportsman 450
polaris belt is the best, can get them from your dealer for $65 or less usually.
It has a belt driven automatic transmission. Similar to a snowmobile.
It will squeak
Belt is most likely loose and/or needs replacing
Belt worn out, or loose.
the belt its old or oil contamination on the belt or the belt its contaminated whit antifreeze
The belt will squeak until the coolant wears off.
No the belt has to be replaced there is no adjustment
because it's slipping. tension or replace.
change your belt
There are probaby many reasons but one that I know of is anti-freeze. If some anti-freeze gets on the belt it can cause a squeak and it's hard to get rid of it without replacing the belt.
