The flashing check engine light is meant to alert you that you may have a misfire in your engine that will cause catalytic converter damage. Replace a catalytic converter and have the engine checked as soon as possible by a certified mechanic.
A transmission warning light may serve a double duty. It may inform you of transmission faults, but the transmission light also serve as a maintenance reminder to let you know it is time to check or change your Transmission Fluid, or to take your vehicle to the dealer for regular maintenance.
