It's more than likely a blend door that is broken. Look under the passenger side footwell and see if there is a black box towards the firewall. If there is then there is probably no way to get it out without removing the steering wheel, dashboard and discharging the a/c to access the airbox. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic in order to fix the problem. It is a very involved process.
Dissconnect the battery for 1 hour and reconnect, should re-set the flaps!
When my a/c system is low on refrigerant, it blows hot on drivers side, cold on passenger side of the dashboard. This is a 1997 Buick Ultra. Recharging the system solves the problem.
Temp blend door actuator malfunction.
heater control valve is bad on the drivers side.
Your average A/C unit blows heat through all vents.
i just got i back from getting a wiper switch installed and this started happening the day i got it back. so could they have messed with something or what help please cheese problem go to a macanic it well help alot
I had that problem too. when I checked my freon, it was low so I recharged it and was able to get cold air back on drivers side. then a month later, the seal went out on my AC compressor. So I would guess your freon is low and AC compressor is (or is about to) start leaking
Answering "Why would the AC blow cold air on the drivers side while hot air blows on the passengers side even when all controls are set on cold 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora ?
make sure both knobs are all the way up on red for heat...
There is a differential vane in the AC ductwork that regulates the flow of hot and cold air into the two halves (driver/passenger) of the system. Failure of this mechanism is one of the more notorious problems with the LS.
usually system is low of freon when this concern occurs. if 134 freon is ok then temp doors may be out of calibration. djones1
One of the temp blend door actuators has failed.
