this is an age old question that dates back to king Auvergne in the gaul state of France. it shrinks because of the hyper comduenciation happening inside the egg. the salt water reacts with this so it shrinks, it also shrinks because the salt in the water kills the potential baby chicken inside the egg, once this space is not needed the egg contracts to keep from wasting space.
hope this helps you.
a shriveled egg lacks moisture so putting it in water puts water in the egg.
If you put an egg in salt water for a week, the egg will begin to undergo osmosis. The salt concentration in the water will cause water to move out of the egg, resulting in the egg shrinking and becoming smaller in size. The egg's membrane may also become translucent or appear to be semi-transparent.
you put it in a cup of water or something that has water in it
The vinegar will disintegrate the egg shell and the salt will suck out all the water and shrivel the egg.
When an egg is submerged under tap water it will float. This is because water is more dense than the egg.
Put an egg in fresh water and it will sink. Put the egg in heavily salted water and it will float near the surface. This is because the salt makes the water more dense and able to support more weight. The same goes for a ship. A ship will settle lower in fresh water and the same ship will float higher in the oceans.
Osmosis occurs in an egg cell if you place it in liquids. If you put it in vinegar, the egg's shell will start to dissolve. Then, you can test osmosis in water or salt water. Because the egg is considered a cell, it will swell the egg cell with plain water (meaning it will increase the egg's mass). With salt water, the egg cell will shrink in mass.
You should no put an Alien with Goo in water without the egg. The water will damage the goo and it will no longer be usable.
To boil it, better slit a small hole in the bottom of the egg. Then put it in the water.
The egg should have its water or substance in the egg come out through the cell membrane. :)
Put salt in the water
the outside of the egg will be hard because the egg will be boiling
The five teaspoons of salt dissolved in the water increase the density of the water. Once the density of the water is greater than the density of the egg, the egg will float.
it will get wet
It will get wet.
Put the egg in water and let it sit there
I think that the egg shrivels up
it makes the egg float
