The most obvious thing that happens to the egg yolk because of the hen's diet, is that if she is on a wheat or white corn diet, her yolks will be light yellow. This coloration is preferred in the Midwest. In the South, where they light their yolks dark and orangy, the hens are fed diets high in carotenoids such as leafy green plants, marigold petals, tomatoes and red peppers.
Otherwise the yolk's nutritional content will stay approximately the same as long as the hen is getting an adequate diet. There is a problem in chicks when the hen does not have adequate Vitamin E, but it is not significant enough to affect humans.
pretty important because it is their main food source, but you can also feed them different foods if you have ran out
Certainly. Not all dog foods suit all dogs. Depending on the role the dog has, different nutrients may be required. In the first couple of days after you change your pets food, they may have gas &/or diarrhea. It should pass quickly. If not, try something different. : )
Bantam chickens eat the same foods as regularly sized chickens. Many people enjoy keeping bantam chickens because they eat far less than regular chickens.
Free range chickens are raised outdoors with natural foods while industrial chicken houses have thousands of chickens in one place and are fed foods with antibiotics and steroids. Yuck.
Chicken sounds or vocalizations have various meanings. A chicken going "tick, tick, tick" as it pecks is announcing the presence of food. A softer "tuck, tuck, tuck" sound can come from a hen with chicks under wing. Researchers found that chickens give different alarm calls depending on whether a scary intruder flies in or approaches on the ground. Sounds of alarm and pain are distinct. Roosters have different sounds for certain things, loud, continuous clucking for favored foods and low slow clucks for foods not so desirable. Roosters also make a continuous whining or purring sound while doing the courtship dance just prior to mating and this sound is different depending on the hen he presents to.
No, it's one of my favourite foods. I also have pet chickens.
eggs, white meat, and dark meat... chicken meat that is.
chemical change, because your body is using different substances to change the original substance(s).
As long as it hasn't spoiled, it is okay as in small amounts occasionally. It is not really good for chickens to get a lot of moist foods, as it can sour their crops.
Because of different foods and liquids you drink, and just about everything you put into your body.
Chickens seem to enjoy raisins/grapes, red tomatoes, melon scraps, sunflower seeds, grasshoppers, worms, and small mice.
No, apples grow on trees from apple blossoms that are pollinated by insects. People pick apples from the trees when they are ripe, but they do not lay them like eggs.
