Thermostatic control to cool engine.
What would cause my fan to keep running after turning the car off it is a 2005 kia sorento
Your diesel vehicle might keep running after turning off the key because there is still enough fuel in the system to allow it to idle. In many diesel vehicles, the engine is stopped by choking the fuel.
that is your cooling fan for the radiator, it is thermostatically controlled so even with the ignition off it will run until the temperature is below the set point....Its a good thing dont worry
Turn the fan clutch counterclockwise and use a pulley wrench to keep the pulley from turning. An air hammer will make it easier to get off.
An automobile's radiator fan will switch on and off during normal operation of the vehicle, and sometimes after the vehicle is shut off. The fan is controlled by a thermostat that regulates the temperature of the coolant in the radiator. When the coolant rises above a certain temperature, the thermostat switches the fan on to cool the radiator until the temperature drops below its limit and shuts off. The fan turning off and on is a normal part of the car's operation and is nothing to be concerned about.
The words cooling fan tells us that they are fans that cool off something hot. They are used in computers to keep the electronics runnning at a safe temperature. They are used with engines that burn all kinds of fuel, such as gasoline and diesel, to help keep the liquid coolant at a safe operating temperature.
try a new switch
Engine Temperature Sensor Doesn't Work.
keep turning and if it wont come off turn the opposite way then try again
By turning on a fan to make it cooler or taking off a piece of clothing.
Try turning it off then on again.
no so...... knock yourself out
