There's a remote possibility the problem is in your gauge. Try an after market gauge and see if it works for you. Take it back to the place of purchase and get your money back if it doesn't correct the problem. Finally, it's a matter of ensuring that all the wiring is working as it should.
Have you checked your fuses?

Fuses only need to be changed when they blow. They are not a wear item.
