It could be something with the pump itself, or you are going over the limit in what you paid for gas.
On my Explorer , to prevent the gas pump from clicking off every couple of seconds , an employee of the gas station told me not to insert the nozzle all the way . So , I stick the nozzle in all the way and then pull it back about an inch and I haven't had any problems since with the gas pump clicking off before the tank is full. Something for you to try - good luck - Helpfull
Another commone sence answer. it keeps clicking because it is telling you that your gas tank is full and if you don't stop trying to add more gas then it will overflow on the ground. I am sure you don't want to pay for gas on the ground but then again you probably want to know why you have to pay for the gas you just wasted since you didn't know why the pump clicks.
Does the gas pump keep shutting off ? If so , try putting the gas pump nozzle all the way in and then pull it back about 1 inch . A gas station attendent told me that when the gas pump kept shutting off when I was trying to fill my Ford Explorer gas tank , it works for me
