Why does the heater in your 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 only heat up when accelerated?

I have the same problem with my 2002 ram.
I'm gonna try a rad flush to see if that helps.
I think the heater core is fine because after 2 on the rpm gauge it warms up perfect, just not when idling.
Maybe someone out there knows more?
