The coolant level sensor is bad
If coolant full could be a bad sensor
maybe cuz its low on coolant
Bad sensor? == ==
Defective sensor? Usually in coolant recovery trank
When someone say's "Check the coolant level" they simply mean to open the hood and look at that little white bottle on the passenger side fender to make sure that the bottle is full of coolant/water mixture. It has a line on it that say's "Full When Hot". If the light on the dash stays on and the bottle is full, shake the bottle, the float inside the bottle is stuck.
Check the coolant level and make sure that its full, and is not leaking down over time. If the system is full then the low coolant sensor is probably bad.
Check the engine coolant... Is it full? yes coolant level is full
you can't reset it, fill your coolant up full, both rad and overflow. the light will go out. if it is still on when everything is full, then your coolant sensor is broken or unplugged. if you light goes off then comes on again and your coolant is low, then you have a leak. if you have a 3400 engine in your lumina common leaks are intake gaskets, waterpumps, and head gaskets.
The coolant level sensor is bad. It is integrated into the coolant bottle, so you need to replace the coolant bottle.
I HAVE A 2000 IMPALA ,AND MINE DID THE SAME THING.I HAD IT CHECKED AND IT WAS THE THERMOSTAT.IT WAS CLOSED,THEREFORE IT WAS NOT ALLOWING ANY COOLANT INTO MY ENGINE,SO I REPLACED IT AND NOW ITS ALL GOOD! ANOTHER POSSIBILITY IS YOUR TEMP SENSOR. HOPEFULLY THIS HELPS.
low coolent/anti-freeze, check the tank and make sure it is full, if not, fill it to the full line. if the light doesn't go away, i would take it some place and see if the thermostat is working correctly.
Your thermostat has nothing to do with your coolant light. Your thermostat, if bad, would make your van run extremely hot, or not heat up at all. Your coolant light is probably a bad sending unit or ground.
