Why does the new update of the Wikianswers website not have the recommend contributor or question button underneath an answer?

It is part of the new format. The new recommend contributor button is to the top right. You will have to switch it to answers/editors if it is on the supervisor tab and there you will be able to recommend contributors. If there is more than one contributor to an answer, you can use the arrows to see the other contributors and recommend them as well

On WikiAnswers how do you add trust points?
If you go onto a question that was answered by the contributor, at the bottom of the page you can recommend the contributor.Trust points can be given by clicking on recommend contributor next to the contributor's username, which can be found either on the contributor's contributions page or on any Q&A page where that contributor was the last to answer.

The point of WikiAnswers is to ask the entire community of contributors the question, and not just a single contributor.
How do you give people trust points?
To give other users trust points on WikiAnswers, you just have to search for a question that they have recently answered, and scroll down to underneath the answer. It should say "Last edited by: ExampleUser" and, next to it, "Recommend Contributor". All you have to do is click on that and you have given them a trust point. Please give everyone that has given you a good answer a Trust Point to let them know they were a help. You can also recommend a contributor through their profile.
How do you log in as Anonymous to WikiAnswers?
If you are an anonymous contributor at wikianswers, you participate in wikianswers but without a wikianswers account.
How you can be a Contributor?
By adding a question, answering a question, editing an answer or question, adding or getting rid of categories on a topic, or sending a message to another contributor. You can keep track of you contributions by making a WikiAnswers account.

You can't. You can only ask a question or answer a question.
