Why does the reproductive age of a woman start from menarche and end at menopause?

Everything seems to have a beginning and an end so fertility in a woman has to start and end somewhere & Menarche is the word we give to the beginning & Menopause is the word we give to the end. Between the two will be most of her life and all of her reproductive, child bearing years. OK the basics; Menarche is from the Greek meaning BEGINNING & is the term commonly used for the onset of the first period for a girl. That first period indicated the onset of fertility. Getting the first period is a big deal for most girls and is a date most remember throughout their life. For many it is the symbolic "coming of age, becoming a woman, moment". The average age for Menarche in most girls will be somewhere in the 12th year. & that fertility will continue until the FERTILITY cycle of life has run its course for that woman, that end of cycles is called MENOPAUSE. Unlike the onset of fertility, Most women will be in MENOPAUSE for several years and it does not come at a precise moment. MENOPAUSE IS A PROCESS THAT USUALLY TAKES A FEW YEARS. ERRATIC MONTHLY CYCLES, MORE THAN A YEAR WITHOUT A CYCLE, THE END OF FERTILITY, LOW TESTOSTERONE & ESTROGEN, HOT FLASHES, JOINT PAIN, VAGINAL DRYNESS & A LOSS OF SEX DRIVE ARE ALL INDICATORS OF MENOPAUSE. ...

How long after discharge does your period start?

There is no direct correlation between starting to experience discharge and menarche (first period) per say - starting to get discharge is one of many changes that occurs during puberty, and menarche is just one other change. Typically a girl will start to menstruate within four years of starting puberty, so if she has started to get discharge menarche will likely start within those four years.
