The Ring of Fire is also known as the Pacific Ring of Fire. The yellow line is the location of the Ring of Fire. The Ring of Fire is bascically where the Earth's tectonic plates have spread apart and cracked, allowing warm lava to rise and causing many earthquakes and volcanoes. Also, the plates here often shift and that is why there are often tsunamis. Tsunamis are caused underwater by onshore earthquakes that are very powerful.

The ring of fire is pretty much the Pacific plate that formed volcanoes. So there would be earthquakes all around the ring of fire if two plates (one has to be the pacific plate to relate to the ring of fire, of course) had a boundary that could cause and earthquake.

Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes. Earthquakes and volcanoes can result from the collision of tectonic plates. The ring of fire is a region where tectonic plates collide.
