This is often the result , in fuel injected cars, when there is an intake manifold vacuum leak ( i.e. loose or disconnected vacuum line, intake gasket leak , injector seal leak or many other possible leaks in the air intake system ). It is also a symptom of a faulty or maladjusted throttle position sensor.

Suggestions my subaru impreza 93 1.8l fwd when its cold you start the engine it starts then the rpms go up then rpms go down and it almost dies then it kicks the rpms back up and runs fine afterwards?

Chances are it is a stuck fuel injector, or possibly a vacuum line leak.

What rpms are used to upshift and downshift a eaton fuller 18 speed?

You can do it at pretty much any RPMs, so long as your timing is right. I can hit gears upshifting at 1300 or 1900 RPMs with no problem. What the ideal shift range is will depend on the engine. As a general rule of thumb, most people say 1400 - 1600 RPMs... personally, I like to shift a bit higher, and drop back down into the powerband when I go into the next gear, so that the engine isn't as prone to bogging down.

Why does your 1999 pathfinder jerk when you go over 2 RPMs?

2 rpms? Your automobile engine probably runs around 2000 rpms. At 2 rpms the engine would stall and stop. However, many automatic transmissions jerk a little bit as they shift gears. I suspect this is what is happening to your Pathfinder.

RPMs in a cadillac go up and down at high speed?

Your car most likely has an automatic transmission. If you're noticing the rpms going up and down it is because your automatic transmission is using its torque converter. it uses the torque converter to get the transmission up to speed with the engine and then it locks but when the torque gets to be too much for the engine it unlocks and speeds back up again.

2000 ranger 4.0 every time your ac kicks on the rpms go up 300 rpms then goes down the ac turn off why?

because the engine automatically revs up when it encounters the resistance of the ac clutch kicking in so it doesnt die or put un-needed stress on the engine at idle speed

What will cause your 1999 Honda civic RPM go up and down when transmission shift gears?

When you are shifting gears, your RPMs will go down because your clutch is being pressed. If your RPMs don't go back up when you release your clutch, you should see a mechanic.

Why wont your maxima Go over 2300 RPMs?

What causes a 1998 Malibu 's engine to rev at 2500 rpms when first started by the way it won't kick down unless you shut it off a start again then the rpms go back to 1000- car seems to start slowly?

Check the engine for proper cylinder compression. If the pressure is low then a blown head gasket could be leaking and causing the problem.

Will a bad PVC cause the idle to go up and down about 200 RPMs and stall and die at a stop light?

A faulty PCV valve can certainly cause idling problems, especially after the engine has warmed.
