Because that is the way it has adapted to its environment.
They probably eat off bushes and things that require a long neck for instead of things like shrubs etc.
But the reason they ALL have long necks might have something to do with natural selection.
Natural selection is where a male and a female choose to mate because of their qualities (which could have been given to them via mutation in the genes) and then those advantages then get passed on to their offspring which will then pass on to their off spring etc etc.
Therefore changing the species qualities.
For example, if you saw two people standing in front of you and they both were drop-dead gorgeous and they were but perfect for you personality wise but one was rich and one was poor, which one would you ask out ?!
'Sweating' A horse refers mainly to placing a type of neck cover on the horse after applying a 'sweating gel/lotion' and letting the heat made by the trapped liquid to cause the horse to sweat of the 'excess' neck weight causing the neck to look thinner and longer.
Go see the chiropractor. you might have thrown out your back or neck. the longer you wait, the more it will hurt. Trust me.
The horse's withers are the top of its shoulders, where the neck joins the body. This is where the horse is measured (height is taken from the withers not the head) and also where the saddle sits.

The word nape is associated with the back of neck.
