The moon is not actually forced to rise, but appears to be rising because of the orbit of the moon and the rotation of the earth. The movement of the planets and the moon makes them appear to rise and set.

Why is the language of sunrise and sunset misleading?

Referring to sunrise and sunset as if the sun is moving around the Earth is misleading because it's actually the Earth's rotation that makes the sun appear to rise and set. The sun doesn't actually rise or setβ€”it's our perspective that changes as the Earth rotates on its axis.

Why did people believe that a geocentric system was correct?

The geocentric system is very plausible to people who have not looked deeply into the subject of astronomy, because at first glance, that's how things appear. We stand on a world that does not feel like it is moving. Our senses tell us that it is motionless (not counting earthquakes). It is somewhat difficult to imagine that this vast, seemingly motionless surface that we are standing on is actually moving through space. And when we look at the sky, we see various astronomical objects which rise and set, just as if they were circling the motionless Earth.

How does sun appear to rise?

Why do you say that the sun appears to rise in the east and set in the west?

The reason it is said that the sun appears to rise in the east and set in the west is that it doesn't actually rise or set. From our vantage point, it appears that the sun is moving across the sky when in reality, it is the rotation of our own planet that causes the transition from night to day and so on.

Sun appear to rise in east and set west?

What are the bubbles that appear and rise to the surface during boiling?

How does the sun rise east to west?

Because our planet orbits (spins around) the sun. This means that the position of the sun will look like it changes throughout the day, whereas it is Earth that is actually moving.
