A temperature gauge, that always read the maximum temperature, is usually not connected to the temperature sensor. The wire between the gauge and the sensor must be broken.

Is it normal for a cars temperature to go up?

If you have been driving the car for some time, you should have noticed on many occasions that the needle on the temp gauge rises to a certain place and usually stays right there. If the needle, in normal driving, is rising higher than it used to, and staying there, you do need to get that checked out, yes, because that obviously isn't "normal".

How big is the needle they used in blood donations?

Usually a large bore needle is used in emergent situations, such as an 18-gauge or 16-gauge. The old standard was to use a catheter no smaller than a 20-gauge. Research shows that a 22-gauge needles will suffice without significant hemolysis (blood cell rupture). Remember that the bigger the gauge number, the smaller the diameter.Miller MA, Schlueter AJ. How does temperature affect the length of time a glow stick glows?

The colder the water is, the longer it stays glowing. The hotter, the shorter.

How know if you need to change your thermostat on a 1993 Honda Accord?

If the car is overheating or if the temperature gauge is not coming up to normal operating temperature which is normally half way up the gauge then the thermostat needs replacing. As the water pump should be replaced at the same time as the cam belt every 90,000 miles, you should also replace the thermostat and coolant. If the car is overheating or if the temperature gauge is not coming up to normal operating temperature which is normally half way up the gauge then the thermostat needs replacing. Does the amount of water in a hot-water bottle determine the amount of time that the water stays hot?

Lots of things affect this. Also the original temperature of the water, the temperature outside and where the bottle is left.

What is the gauge on a range used to do?

The answer depends on which gauge you are asking about: if it is a thermometer, it could be used to measure the oven temperature. If it is part of a clock/programmer, it tells the time of day and can be used to switch the oven on and off automatically.
