Why does my truck skip and pop on one side and blows black smoke??
on the firewall on the bottom of the truck on the right side there's a black hose that it comes from.
If its black smoke you are burning oil possibly due to oil getting in your exhaust by tilting the lawnmower on its side or your rings are allowing oil by.

Start your truck cold. If a lot of white smoke blows out that is a slight indication, but not always. Pull out your spark plugs on the side you think you have blown and see if water pours out, if water comes out from the spark plug hole, then yes. You've blown a head gasket.

On the passenger side of the truck, the condenser (silver cylindrical canister in front of a black box coming out of the firewall) has a black dust cap on the left back side of it if you're facing the front of the truck. Remove the dust cap, and that's your port to attach to.
When my a/c system is low on refrigerant, it blows hot on drivers side, cold on passenger side of the dashboard. This is a 1997 Buick Ultra. Recharging the system solves the problem.
