Sulfur is not nearly as electronegative as oxygen so that hydrogen sulfide is not nearly as polar as water. Because of this, comparatively weak intermolecular forces exist for H2S and the melting and boiling points are much lower than they are in water.

Are the intermolecular forces you are talking about Dipole-Dipole forces and how these forces which are present in Hydrogen sulfide are much weaker then the hydrogen bonds found in water.

Because inter molecular forces of H2O is higher than h2S.Water has hydrogen bonds and H2S has dipole-dipole bonds.

When Hydrogen sulfide is boiling is it a chemical or physical change?

It is a physical change. This is so because no new substance is formed. Hydrogen Sulfide is Hydrogen Sulfide wether it is boiling, at room temperature, or freezing.

Hydrogen, helium, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen selenide, hydrogen telluride, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen bromide, hydrogen iodide.

What the formula for K2Se?

Potassium sulfide

Is hydrogen sulfide a solid?

This largely depends on the pressure and temperature that the Hydrogen Sulfide is at. However, at room temperature hydrogen sulfide is a gas. At normal pressure it condenses to liquid at -60 °C (boiling point) and solidifies at -80 °C (melting point).

Is hydrogen sulfide gas soluble in water?

slightly soluble, it will make water slightly acidic

Why is the boiling point of water greater than hydrogen sulfide?

because in water between hydrogen and oxygen hydrogen bonds are more stable but it is not in dihydrogensulphide .

Why water has a high boiling point compared with hydrogen sulfide a compound with a similar structure?

Hydrogen bonding is a very strong intermolecular attraction for one water molecule to another. Hydrogen sulfide, because of the lower electronegativity of sulfur does not have hydrogen bonding. This strong attraction must be overcome to make the substance boil.

Will hydrogen sulfide explode?

Yes. Hydrogen sulfide is extremely flammable.

The chemical formula for hydrogen sulfide is H2S.

Hydrogen persulphide, or hydrogen di0sulphide. It has the structure 'H-S-S-H'.

Is hydrogen sulfide mined?

No, hydrogen sulfide is NOT minable, because it is gaseous, not mineral.
