It seems that WikiAnswers wants answers to be short and concise. A lot, though, need to be written in paragraph form. The new layout means that these long answers take a lot of time to read and aren't very pleasant. The beta page is also frustrating because it puts a huge, barely relevant image right behind the text, making it hard to see the words.
