That truck has throttle body fuel injection. There is no choke.
The 1985 Mercedes 190e could have a stuck choke. Check the choke mechanisms to start with, to see if that's the problem.
No choke ,no accelarater pump.
First, check the spark plugs, fuel is on, bike in neutral, kickstand up, and choke is on. If still won't start, pull the carb out and take it to a dealer to clean. If still not working, you will want to take it to a shop and have them give you a quote to fix it.
It came with the Invector system which allowed changing chokes.
Check the power to your automatic choke and check the choke pulloffs. It sounds as if the fast idle cam is not coming all the way off.

The fuse panel on an El Camino of that style is located under the dash, where the driver's left leg would be. There is a square cutout in the under dash panel where it is located. You will have to lean under the dash to see it.

I have the same bike. but instead of the TDC sequesnce you have going i just pull in the release lever and give it a big kick, with full choke, if its ran over a minute i use half choke. and if its ran more then 5 minutes i use no choke. I'm sure every bike is different even if it the same make and model. its irritating when it kicks back.
The choke plate, besides aiding in providing a rich fuel mixture to the engine at start-up, also controls fuel/air mixture as the engine is running. When the accelerator is depressed, the choke opens to allow more air to enter the carburetor, thus preventing the engine from flooding.
They are all in the same repair manual from 1982-1988 so it looks like they will interchange.
