Why does your 1989 GMC 1500k cut out when i start to get on it?

Make sure your fuel filter is clean. A dirty one will starve the engine when you get on it and couse it to cut out. Don't forget to check the sack filter in the gas tank. It could also be a cracked fuel line allowing air to suck into the system and starving the engine. Maybe even a bad distributor..

The coil pack itself could be going out. Also there is a large screw that goes through the coil into the block sometimes it will get hot and cause the engine to shut off and not start back.
