I'm not a mechanic / technician but one sensor would be for
the engine coolant temperature gauge in your dash and the other
sensor is for the OBD I / EEC IV emission control system
There are numerous sensors (two water temp fan switches, temp sender, oil pressure, etc). What sensor are you asking about?
i want to put used rebuilt engine on 1990 integra but new used engine only has two sensors
Two (at least in the V6), one for each bank of cylinders.
AnswerThere are three O2 Sensors on my 1999 Cougar. Two are located just before the Y-Pipe and are both wired to the drivers side of the Y-Pipe. The other is located just after the Catalyic Converter.Easy to change.
The input and output speed sensors are the two wire sensors on the front of the transmission case. The input is closer to the engine.
There are two sensors/sending units. One (the sending unit) is located on the driver's side of the engine block (just below the exhaust pipe). The other is located next to the thermostat housing on top of the engine.
That is a later unit. They had temp., sensors in it. Plug them, or get an older one, without them.
There are two temp sensors on that year engine on for the gauge which is screwed into the head near the exhaust manifold and the other one is for the idiot light it is near the thermostat.
There is two coolant temp sensors. One for the temp gauge that has one wire to it located on the drivers side head between two of the three spark plugs. The second second temp sensor sends information to the ECM and has two wires to it and is located next to the thermostat housing.
Thetemp sensor with one wire operates the temp gauge on the dash and is usually found in the cylinderhead. The temp sensor with two wires sends its signalto the engine control module for several operations and is usually found near to the thermostat.
Input Speed Sensor is on Front of Trans closer to the engine. Output is on the front, farther to the drive side. Both are two wire sensors.
Should be two. One for the temp gauge (located between cylinders 3 & 5) and the other (located close to the thermostat housing) for the ECM to monitor.
