That is the safety default (limp in) gear. The trans computer has detected a problem. You need to have the tcm checked for codes. The problem could be electrical or mechanical.

2000 Dodge Caravan transmission shifts normal but sometimes when you are stopped at a light and start off it starts off in second gear instead of first gear is this a falty speed sensor or what?

Possible, but it would be worth your time and money to have the transmission computer checked for codes. If it sticks in second it is because the computer has set a code and went into safe mode. The code will point you to the faulty part.

1993 dodge colt transmission not going into gear?

If your 1993 Dodge Colt is not going into gear, it could be due to several issues, such as low transmission fluid, a faulty clutch, or a problem with the transmission itself. Start by checking the transmission fluid level and condition; low or dirty fluid can cause shifting problems. If the fluid is fine, the problem may lie with the clutch components or internal transmission parts, requiring further diagnosis or professional assistance.
