Depending on the vehicle it may have to go through a couple drive cycles (cold start, warm up, driven for several miles at city and highway speeds then cool down).
It will for maybe 3 seconds , when the key is turned to the run position , before you start the Explorer

Two or more complete drive cycles should do it. A drive cycle would include a cold start, driving 10 miles or so, some miles at highway speeds then shut down and cool off.
Start Windows Explorer, right-click drive D and then select Format. Of course, be sure to back up any data you want to save beforehand.

Check water pump they go out around 100,000 miles will start to make noise sometimes first
