Sounds like a blown head gasket. Most likely caused from overboost of turbo.

I have read only Ca models do.
Pump is about 150 and I just charged 200 in labor on a customers 03 duramax pickup.
I have a 2002 Duramax 80,000 miles I have a steady 16mpg to and from work about 20 miles, and on trips running cruise control at 73-74 I have a steady 18.5mpg. Not bad for a truck of its sizebut it could be better.

My 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 has bursts of white smoke that quickly vanish after sitting awhile. I've been told that it is the Valve Stem Seals. Is this the end of my engine and is the Valve Spring Compression Tool a successful repair tool?
It's doable... not sure how feasible it would be. You'll need the complete ECM and EGR from the 06 engine.... the 2002 would have the pre-ACERT LB7 engine, whereas the 2006 would be either the 6.6 LLY or 6.6 LBZ (depending on when in 2006).
