in most cases the term keeps running means it spits sputters and pings till it complete shuts down. this is a symptom of the timing be retarded to much. i would suggest checking you timing remember to disconnect the computer control to the distributer before checking the timing, not the power wire the other.
if the car actually is running with the ignition off the the ignition switch is bad.
your timing is not set right
sounds like the ignition switch is bad replace it
Oh the games people play. You got a battery and a starter in it?
my 91 Chevy Camaro RS V8 engine will not rotate when I turn the key the battery and the starter have been checked
so that it cools the engine down
Because he does
Bad ignition switch?
i have a 94 camaro when i turn on my key my track light in my dash lights up for about 1 min then goes out my friends car don't have it an his light don't come
The blower motor will operate when the key is in run regardless of whether the motor is running. The AC itself is not operating as the compressor is turned by the motor.
Put gas in it and turn the key until it starts.
A malfunctioning the ignition switch will allow the car to keep running after the key is turned off. You can remove the positive ground cable from the battery to shut the car off.
If it is running ragged and eventually stops, it is because the engine idle is too high. It has an idle solonoid that controls the idle speed and sometimes you need to take it out of the throtle body and clean it, If it just idles smoothly as if you didn't turn the key off, it is probably the ignition switch which is on the steering column under the dash. Not where you insert the key. that is simply the lock mechanism.
