Probably needs a carb rebuild, specifically the accelerator pump circuit.
It may be time for a complete tune up.
There are a few symptoms when a car has a bad cam sensor. A few of these are sputtering, poor acceleration, and the engine stalling.
To test the alternator if funds are low, let the motor idle and remove the negative battery cable, if the motor dies its probably the alternator.
By itself, the thermostat would have to be stuck closed causing a severe overheat condition to cause a loss of power.
Not if its bad, but for mild cases try the unsharp filter (under filters, under enhancement)
Check for vacuum leak either under hood or under dash Check for bad vacuum motor underdash Check for bad selector switch
A bad o2 sensor can cause this problem in a car. A bad fuel pump, fuel filter or fuel line will also cause hesitation during acceleration.
Ping under acceleration or under load.
A bad PCV can cause the engine to be pressurized internally, thus forcing oil out of important seals. This can cause a white/blue smoke from your tailpipe when the oil is then burned. A clogged PCV will also cause the engine to loop while idling, and possibly hesitate under acceleration.
Bad ignition coil will cause engine to sputter and hesitate on acceleration.
Bad CV joint. Bent rim. Needs alignment. anything relating to your wheels could be the cause.
There pay not be any power under acceleration if o2 sensors are bad, or if certain plugs are blown. This can also be caused by a bad battery or starter.Ê
should still be under warranty, could be a bad thermostat.
Could be a bad knock sensor. The ECM may be retarding the timing based on bad input from a faulty knock sensor.
Struts could of gone bad, otherwise its a miata....not meant for the hearty ones
