If the alternator fails, it is no longer keeping the battery charged and your engine is running on nothing but battery power. Once the battery runs down, your engine will no longer run.
Change the positive post? You can change the battery with a new one but you cannot just change the post. If you mean reverse the positions of the positive and negative posts then buy a longer battery cable.
A good auto battery will hold it's charge for at least 6 months or longer.
The battery charging system is not working properly. The truck runs until the charged in the battery drans to the point the engine can no longer run.
When it is no longer able to keep the system charged. Starting with 2001 model, when the car is started, if you see either the battery warning or the battery along with the brakes warnings on, or intermittently flashing on, you need to have your alternator checked. Otherwise, its fine.
First off you posted this in the wrong section. lol Anyway the light usually comes on when the alternator is no longer charging the battery while driving, most likely it means that either the battery has low voltage or your alternator is becoming a little faulty.

Yes The larger the battery, the more voltage the battery has.
