She might be pregnant, I have never seen a overeating fish become fat, so that's probably what happened. But she might have a disease yes. You can look around the web to see if there are any diseases that make your fish appear fat. I agree with the above anwer, but I have the same thing happening. = 'I have gourami fish and they also have swollen bellies, but I used to feed them twice a day and for a month now I have been feeding them once a day and they are okay. They still have swollen bellies but they are fine. I have Blue,Gold and Pearl Gouramis just limit your feeding them. =
Also, frequent water changes can solve most any problem. 10-15% weekly.

I would assume she is "gravid" (pregnant). The fry will be of normal size and should do OK on ground/crushed flake.
