It is normal for a temperature light to come on in the VW Jetta when the car is started. If the light stays on, it is probably an early warning that there is something wrong with the radiator. The car may be overheating right away when started because there is no fluid in the radiator, or there is a fluid leak somewhere in the system.
Just lets you know the outside temperature is below 40 degrees! This is a warning as some bridges and overpasses can actually become icy at that temperature.
It's just a warning light that there may be icy conditions on the road.
The intake air temperature sensor is located just after the top of the intercooler. It will have color coded wires coming from it.
Could it be that you are just low on coolant?
it might be the crank position sensor just happened to me a week ago 377.91 i still got the bill on my desk -edmund
I just had a similar problem on my 2003 jetta. They replaced the bulbs and it turns out to be a faulty break light switch as well. Make sure to get it checked ASAP otherwise your shifter could get stuck in park.
On a 95 Jetta you push the lever forward to keep the highbeams on pulling it is just to flash them. also make sure you have the main light switch turned on as well.
Yes you can if you want because jetta is really gast
on my 97 jetta (same model) just open the trunk with your key and then close it
CALL VW! I just had a problem with my 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg (1.8T). The brake light switch is on RECALL. You might be able to get it fixed for NOTHING. My brake lights weren't working, and I called the dealership, and I had the problem fixed (no cost to me) within a week. FYI- there is also a recall on the hazard light switch. If it's the same switch as used in the MKIV Jetta, this VWVortx thread is the definitive do-it-yourself instruction on how to do it... http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1158315
Have it scanned and fix the problem, or have it scanned and delete the fault code. If you choose just to delete it there is no garuantee that it will stay off.
Answer: My brilliant cousin reckons when you first turn the key on and start it up, it just tests whether the temperature light is working.
