hello,,well i had this issue of my 1992 Chevy caprice dying at stop lights.couldn't figure it out cause shes a strong, fast, but would stall when coming to a stop..the battery had died quite a few times due to my ignorance and had charged it numerous times..story was,,found out the alternator was shot, replaced it with a new one,car still stalled at stops.,found out the battery wouldn't hold a charge, thus the reason for the alternator going bad..replaced it with a new battery n she is running great as everso it was a bad battery the whole time..of course that was the last thing we checked, after the idle air control valve, fuel pump, filter, lines, new plugs,wires,distributor,hoses..etc..any one of those is an issue for stalling when coming to a stop..hope it helps??lots of info on here..thanxs people..
When driving the IAC does not do anything because the car is not at an idle
No.
Absolutely.
It depends on the gearing of the car. If you are in the highest gear and 40mph in that gear is under the idle rpm of that car than you will stall.
No. A bad starter would cause the car not to start.
Yes
main fuel relay going bad. Eventually car will cut off while driving.
While driving, the dashboard lights will fall and the car will stall if the vehicle goes dead. This can be caused by a lack of fuel or mechanical failure.
if its a stick shift and ur shifting it wrong then mabye that's why
There are several things which could be causing the car to stall out while driving. The most common and least difficult problem is that the spark plugs may need to be changed.
There are many reasons as to why a car may lose power while driving. However, the most likely cause is a bad fuel pump. This causes the car to 'think' that there is not any gas, so it begins to stall, and eventually stalls while driving.
If the car is starving for fuel or air (low power at idle), the car will stall while turning.
