Why does your cat hate you but like everybody else in the house?

Sometimes, this happens because of a certain perfume/cologne you wear, or a soap you use. Cats have very sensitive noses, so they will shy away from any strong smell. Also, if you had the cat when you were young, you may have done something like pull its tail or fur without realizing, making the cat associate you with those uncomfortable feelings. Another less likely cause would be because it is shy. Giving a cat a lot of attention can sometimes backfire with them because they feel overwhelmed with it all. That's why they say that if a cat walks into a crowded room full of animal lovers and one cat hater, it will go to the cat hater because that is the one person not staring at it.
