It would be very surprising if this is true. It is possible the water is doing something to the starter or the engine. You need to have it checked out to figure out what is wrong.

I found a PCM there for my 1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible JS which has California emissions...so a hard part to find on the East coast. I will be buying it in about 2 weeks, so I'll let you know how it goes! http://www.allcomputerresources.com/ 1-866-699-5230 ALL Computer Resources, Inc. $199 FREE Shipping

I have a 1996 Chrysler sebring convertible and I have had a new battery go bad three times in two years. Chrysler dealers across America could not solve the problem. I wound up stranded in a little town called Olds, Alberta, about 60 miles north of Calgary, Alberta, on a weekend in a hail storm and my car would not start. The nearest Chrysler Dealer in town fixed the problem in a couple hours. The problem was a faulty fuel-pump sending unit which caused a slow electrical power leak from the battery.

The 96 Chrysler lhs is known to have a couple of wiring issues. The crank sensor sometimes does not read. Also, the security system can have a wiring issue. Both of these problems can cause the car to stop running the start again as described.
