You have an electrical short. It could (possibly) be a short internal to the coil but it's much more likely that a wire (somewhere between the ignition switch and the coil) has rubbed through against a bit of (grounded) metal. Look for any wire rubs especially near the coil and/or near the throttle lever.
worn ignition switch
You may have a short in the ignition system.
why does fuses keep going out
Sounds like a short.
it could be your coil pack or a short
More than likely because of a short. its probably a shorted ignition switch
I found that bad caps in the ECM (computer) will cause the IGN (ignition) fuse to blow.
There isn't a fuse for the ignition. You need to check the point and condenser. The dwell is 30 fegrees.
Check the ignition fuse also check the ignition switch
Make sure that the fuse is the right size and the right type (slow blow or fast blow.) It the fuse is right then the electrical system will have to be checked to see what is drawing too much power.
1995 Audi A6 Number 8 fuse keeps blowing. Fuse runs domelight, reading light, clock, memory seat, memory side mirror, trunk light. Fuse blow with car just sitting in the drive way parked with key out of ignition. Fuse start to repeatly blow all of a sudden.
I had the same problem and I took it in and it was the rear brake ground wire shorting out.
