Yes
if water is getting on the coil pack. that will cause it to burn out.
You may have a bad compressor clutch coil, you need to check the coil and work from there................
what is the number coil pack
your coil pack sits on top of your engine. if you keep your vehicles key in the on position you will fry your coil pack if your engine is not running, for best results use only your "ACC." postition. and yes this can make your engine not start.
Most automobiles will not start with a nonfunctioning coil pack. The coil pack will cause the spark plugs not to fire.
these coil packs have a primary winding resistance of only about 0.4 ohms. in other words, if one of the 2 coil negative wires shorts to ground, you will have about 25 amps running through the primary circuit. and yes that current will overheat and fry the coil pack. check the wire harness in the back of the manifold on the left hand side. this is where i found the 1/6 coil negative wire shorting to one of the intake manifold bolts. (four coil packs and a call to indenti fix hot line later)
There is no coil wire. There is a coil pack and connected to the coil pack is the ignition control module.
Coil Pack
The purpose of a coil pack is to supply the spark to the spark plugs.
