My dog frequently pushes me and other people whom he likes with his nose, it appears to be a sign of love or affection and that he is at ease with this person. He will never do this if he is unsure or a bit uncomfortable around someone. He will also do this when I am sitting next to him and reading, in this case he will push the book or magazine as if he wants my attention.
