I am not an expert or anything but my guess would be that she feels when you exhale and it bothers her. I have a little dog that absolutely hates it when I blow on him (even though its hilarious because of the way he looks at me) so that is my best explanation for why she might want to sleep at your feet instead of by your face.

It is this switch to inner north that stimulates the secretion of melatonin which puts us to sleep. so head facing north is the best for sleep. But I find everyone is different. and the earths magnetic field has been weakening for some time and is very low so not having its full effect.
