your house is haunted.
Now for a real answer. There are two possible reasons. Most cooling fans will come on for a short period anytime the air conditioning is turned on. That is normal. Second: there is a switch that turns the fan on and off as the engine heats up. It works as an invar so over time it may fail and need to be replaced. Unless it really bugs you it is not urgent that it be fixed. No real damage will occur because the fan is running.
I had the exact same problem twice in 3 years. I resolved it BOTH times by disconnecting the NEGATIVE side of the battery for approximately 5 minutes, then re-connecting it. The Corvette Rep told me to do so. It worked. Bad aircon unit, of a bad engine problem Bad aircon unit, or a bad engine problem Bad aircon unit, or a bad engine problem
The engine is cooling down. (or at least that's one reason for it)
As long as the engine temperature doesn't move into the extremely hot range, then this is just normal operation for the engine's cooling system. When an engine is running at idle speed with the vehicle stopped, there is no air flow coming through the grill to assist in cooling the radiator. Only the engine's fan system is doing any of the cooling at idle speed. For this reason, the engine temperature will increase somewhat at idle in a non-moving vehicle. Once you start moving, even though the engine RPMs increase causing more heat, the air flow forced through the vehicle's front grill and through the radiator cooling fins compensates for the added heat and decreases the engine temperature. Note however, if the temperature is moving into the extreme hot area on the dash gage when the vehicle is idling and not moving, there may be issues with the engine's cooling system.
One is for oil pressure. The other is for the alternator. And if THAT light comes on, for God's sake get to the side of the road and shut the engine off NOW!!! The cooling fan for your engine is bolted to the end of the alternator shaft, and the most common reason that light comes on is that your fan belt broke. No belt = no cooling = no engine.
It means that the engine is running HOT for some reason. Check cooling system real close. Thermostat, Fan clutch, radiator, Coolant leak, Fluid level
Absolutely not!! Unless you want to replace the engine. Water does horrible things to engines and that is the reason water isn't used for engine lubrication and pure water isn't used for cooling the engine in the first place.
The most common reason for cooling a body is fever or hyperthermia
If you mean after you filled it with coolant, then jack up the front of the car, fill the radiator slowly, run the engine until it is at the normal temp. then let it sit overnight, refill the next morning. Should be all set. Reason - air rises to the highest point.
There has been some talk that the Mercury Villager doesnt have a great cooling system, sometimes a bigger radiator replacement might help.. but either way you have to keep the coolant, timming, etc in perfect state. The reason why it goes from normal to hot then back to normal is because that is usually when the temperature rises hi enouth for the thermostat to open up and lets the cooling back in circulation thru the whole system...
Why does heat get absorbed by the engine must be discharged??The reason why heat is absorbed by the engine must be discharged to the atmosphere in one way or another because the engine will become overheated and eventually seize up and this is why a cooling system is built into the engine to cool it and prevent overheating. This is answered by J.G.NThank you for using this answer in what ever you need it for.
The reason for a ‘cooling step’ in these instances is that we need to make sure the hair is ‘set’ into its new configuration, and in order for that to happen, it has to have been returned to its normal temperature.
There is no reason to ever bleed a cooling system.
