Well, she never gets to see him, and you do. He probably does not want her to worry that there's a possibility of him cheating on her with you. Even if she won't admit it, it'll make her very jealous to know that the guy she is with and never sees is hanging out with another girl.
He most likely likes you and doesn't want to get you upset by mentioning another girl.
