He is probably hungry, wants to explore somewhere else (probably his cage is too small or he hasn't got much to do) or he needs to knaw his teeth down.
Ensure he has lots of food, that you hold him/her daily, and that you maybe give her/him somwhere to explore, like a run around the kitchen floor. < --- Just make the hamster cant get in any gaps between the cooker e.t.c as you risk in loosing your hamster behind the fridge! Also make sure you have something like a chew or something that your hamster can knaw on. This will ensure their teeth don't get too long.
Hopefully that makes sense!
You can use a suitable substitute. You should have something though since it helps keep them warm, affords them some privacy & when they breed, they will make a little nest for the offspring. Hamsters are fun. You should get one of those ball exercisers so they can run around the house. If you know someone with a paper shredder, that's a cheap alternative to the store bought stuff.
Sawdust is so small it can get in their noses and make them sneeze try some bigger litter
no!
If the hamster is chewing the bars of the cage, nothing as long as you keep an eye on the cage bar and make sure that the hamster is not eating through the cage! If it is chewing the cage bars it's a sign that he wants to come out. However if your mean that you are feeding him wire then stop cos it'll get caught in the hamsters throat or organs and cause a very traumatic death!
you buy a new cage of let it free it is as simple as that! my hamster did it we had to take him down the shop with us and buy a new cage he he he!
You can teach your hamster to climb the bars of the cage like a ladder, or do monkey bars at the ceiling of the cage.
Hamsters usually do make a lot of noise. They chew on the bars of the cage, their wheel may be squeaky, and their digging often is noisy. If you get a good hamster wheel and a cage without bars, then your hamster is probably alright to be in your room.
It is probably from chewing on things. If it is in a wire cage, it is kind of common for them to chew the bars.
You could try putting food in the exercise ball and the hold it to the open cage door he will eventuaaly climb in. but hamsters do chew on their cages or anything to sharpen their teeth. if they dont chew on something, they wont be able to chew their food. but i suggest to get a pair of leather or chew-proof gloves to transport them.
nothing your hamster is young and just loves to chew things try buying wood blocks and hamster toys for it to chew on and she should stop if not dont worry its not hurting her =] nothing your hamster is young and just loves to chew things try buying wood blocks and hamster toys for it to chew on and she should stop if not dont worry its not hurting her =] dont worry my hammies do that too they love chewing stuff my hamster just had babies and i cant touch them:(
They should not be able to if it is made well. They will most likely chew on the bars (you should try to discourage this-as the paint is not good for them-by giving them wood chew toys) but they can't get through them as they are just guinea pigs.
In the right environment they are usually happy as can be and very well behaved. When you first put them in their cage they might be a little jumpy for a few days, but after that their awesome! if you have a wire cage they might chew on the bars a little.
no guinea pigs are herd animals while hamsters need there privacy
No, they will chew through it. Get a 10 gallon tank or a wire cage.
Get him a chew toy
