Why does your hamster not open his left eye all the way when he wakes up?

There are a few options -
- Something stuck in the eye. This could be a tiny piece of sawdust or food, and is best looked at by a vet. However, this can often go away naturally in a day.
- An eye infection, which should be looked at and treated by a vet immediately to prevent blindness.
- Swelling caused by the eye being hit by something. Again, see a vet for more advice.

∙ 12y agoWhen your hamster wakes up sometimes the fur by it's eye gets stuck together so it take them a minute to open that eye.my hamster has the same thing
