I had that problem on my Grand Espace IV 2.2dci, it was fixed under warranty at the time, they said it was a temperature sensor that failed which was not uncommon. I asked how much that would be if I had to pay & they said about a €100.
YES
hi, the phase two espace,1990-1996 has a rheostat in the heater box, which is uover the top of the engine inside the engine bay.it is removed ria the engine bay and i am told is one heck of a job to get out(approx 3hrs work) mainly because its so fiddely.i need to replace mine but as yet have not done this job.the rhoestat is conveiently located inside the heater box so it must be removed and split into its two halves.oh and there are two types of rheostat and the only way to know which type you need is to remove it first!(cheers renault!)
2 ways easiest is too remove inlet manifold other is too remove engine 3 ltrs only
Just turn on the map light in the roof console and the glove box light will come on. In 2006-onward (and possibly earlier) the glovebox lights only come on when the headlights are on. Map lights have no effect in my 2006 Espace.
try changing the thermostat With mine it was Heater matrix clogged with radiator sealant. The workshop cleaned it and it's start working fine!
Probably the Heater Fan Thermostat. It may have a different name.
If the heater is running normally on full speed then the likely cause is that the resistor block needs replacing. If you have a Mk 1 then it may be the switch on the fascia panel as it was used to switch the current to each resistor. The Mk 2 replaced the heavy current through the switch by using relays which are distributed around the car in various fuse boxes for some reason. Two will be found under the bonnet. The resistor block itself is mounted adjacent to the blower motor and is almost totally inaccessible without some dismantling of the fascia.
Low coolant? Heater core restricted or plugged? Heater core airbound? Water pump not circulating coolant? Heater control cable not adjusted properly? With mine it was Heater matrix clogged with radiator sealant. The workshop cleaned it and it's start working fine!
Nope. Only at Renault with a computer.
You can't reset the parking light - It shows you have a fault at that time - Cure the fault and the light will go out - I have a problem with mine - I have an intermittent fault the light only comes on when the parking brake is faulty - most of the time the lights out
Defective heater blower motor resistor pack.
The firing order is 1-3-4-2 remembering that the French do everything the wrong way round and No. 1 cylinder is at the back of the engine at the flywheel end and No 4 is at the radiator end of the engine. This refers only to the 4 cylinder petrol engines.
